What have I gained by becoming a minimalist?
Minimalism is about intentionally living with fewer possessions, focusing on only what you need.
Living with less can be the right choice if you're feeling overwhelmed by clutter, looking for fewer distractions, or want to cut back on spending.
Here are some of the benefits I have gained from practicing minimalism:
I use far fewer natural resources than most people. It's very rewarding to know that I'm helping to protect nature.
I have a lot of free time compared to most people who are busy shopping, cleaning, fixing things, or looking for more things to buy.
I can pack my things for a weekend or a month in a few minutes. I could move in a few hours if I wanted to.
Unexpected expenses for things that break have disappeared. Bills have decreased in number and amount. I worry less about running out of money.
My mind is no longer cluttered with things to fix or equipment to maintain. I don't waste time looking for things that are missing. I have more time to spend on what's fun.
